The Boston Celtics have done what many fans and bettors thought was impossible. After being down 3-0 to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals, the C’s have forced a Game 7.
And with Boston’s gutsy Game 6 win, the NBA Finals odds have shifted again.
After the Heat fell to the Celtics 104-103, Miami’s odds to win the title lengthened to +1600. They hope to avoid the ignominious distinction of being the first NBA team to lose a series after being up 3-0.
Boston was favored to win it all coming into the playoffs, but when the Celtics had zero wins after three games, the Celtics championship odds fell from +100 to +1300. Now that the C’s have made it a 3-3 series, Boston’s odds to win it all have shortened to +120.
While Boston and Miami battle it out, the Denver Nuggets are resting up as the new betting favorite (-130; bet $10 to win $17.69 total) to win the NBA Finals.
Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets swept LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals, and they have surged in popularity with bettors to win it all.
The NBA Finals are scheduled to begin June 1.
Here are the updated championship futures for the remaining teams.
