The Boston Celtics staved off elimination again by winning Game 5 of the NBA Eastern Conference finals handily, cutting the Miami Heat‘s series lead to 3-2.
Is it time for the Heat and their backers to get nervous about winning this series?
The momentum has shifted back to the team in green after big wins in Games 4 and 5, and so have the betting odds.
Jayson Tatum and the Celtics’ odds to win the series shortened once again after Thursday’s 110-97 win, moving from +240 to +110 (bet $100 to win $210 total). On the flip side, the Heat’s series odds shifted drastically from -303 to -130 after Game 5.
Additionally, both teams’ title odds also moved. Boston quickly dropped from +450 to +290 to win it all, while Miami went from +360 to +600.
The Celtics are again favored in Game 6 and would be heavy favorites going into Game 7 at home.
Boston is trying to make NBA history, as no team has come back from a 3-0 deficit to win the series (though three teams have forced a Game 7).
