There are some great matchups on the schedule in Week 6 of the USFL, and we’ve got you covered with all the action from a Saturday slate that includes a pair of contests.
First, the Memphis Showboats (3-3) won their third straight game, this one in dominant fashion with a 22-0 shutout of the Pittsburgh Maulers (2-4).
Later the Birmingham Stallions (4-2) held off a game Michigan Panthers (2-4) squad, riding a strong defense to a 27-13 victory. The Panthers were seeking their first home win at Detroit’s Ford Field.

Big play for Michigan!

A big throw from Josh Love and a beautiful catch from Trey Quinn resulted in three points for the Panthers early in the first quarter.
Alex McGough rushed 24 yards to set the Stallions up for their second field goal of the afternoon.
Birmingham led 6-3 halfway through the second quarter.
McGough turns nothing into a TD!
When there appeared to be nothing happening in the red zone for the Stallions, McGough used his mobility to his advantage, killing time in order to find ZaQuandre White for the 18-yard touchdown.
Birmingham headed into the half up 13-3.
Michigan makes it interesting!
Love led a 13-play, 77-yard drive, the Panthers’ longest touchdown drive of the season, and their first touchdown of the day. Cole Hikutini caught Love’s 11-yard touchdown pass, narrowing Birmingham’s lead to 13-10.
McGough put the Panthers on his back!
Once again, McGough got creative finding another open receiver, hitting CJ Marable for a 3-yard touchdown, putting the Panthers back up by two possessions, 20-10 early in the fourth quarter.
MICHIGAN FORCES A FUMBLE!
On the first play of Birmingham’s drive, Michigan’s Frank Ginda forced a fumble, giving the Panthers the ball on the Stallion’s 20-yard line.
The Panthers didn’t score the touchdown they were yearning for, but got a field goal, making it a one-possession game, 20-13 halfway through the fourth.
McGough, the menace, scores again!
Putting the game on ice, McGough scored his third touchdown of the day on a 10-yard rush to the end zone. The Stallions were up 27-13 with less than four minutes left in the game.
