China turned it over, and England made it pay dearly, once again.
Chloe Kelly caught up with a deep pass off the turnover, which led to China goalkeeper Yu Zhu coming out of the net to contest, but Kelly got around Zhu and smacked in a goal.

England went around the horn, setting the stage for its fourth goal. In the end, Esme Morgan set up Lauren James with a deep pass to the left side, and the latter punched in the score with her left foot.

57′: On the board!
China was rewarded a penalty kick after England’s Lucy Bronze was booked for making contact with the ball with her hands. Moments later, Wu Cheng Shu knocked in the PK, putting China on the board.

53′: Close, but no cigar
China had its best scoring opportunity of the game early in the second half, but Wu Cheng Shu’s screaming shot attempt was knocked away by England goalkeeper Mary Earps, who made a diving save.
HALFTIME: England in control
England scored three times in the first half. By contrast, China failed to get off a shot.
45+5′: Goal called off
Just seconds before the end of the first half, Lauren James appeared to punch in a goal on the left side of the net. However, a VAR check determined that Lucy Bronze was offside for England, taking the score off the board.
41′: Making it happen
Lauren James scored England’s third goal of the first half with a fair amount of space to get off her shot.

36′: Get out of here!
Trying to stay within reach of England, China goalkeeper Yu Zhu deflected a shot attempt high over the bar.
33′: Miss left, miss right
England was all over the net in the first half.
After scoring twice, England had a pair of close-up scoring opportunities, but Lucy Bronze’s header went off the left post, while her shot attempt off the rebound was contested and went wide to the right.
26′: Taking advantage
After forcing a China turnover, England doubled its lead when Lauren Hemp knocked in a score with the left foot.

13′: A tad high
England had a scoring opportunity when Alessia Russo came thundering down the field and passed it off to Lauren Hemp, prior to the latter having her shot attempt contested and going north of the net.
4′: Sneaking in the side
Even with traffic in the area, Alessia Russo got England on the board in the opening minutes, sneaking a goal into the left side of the net.
