Colorado’s Travis Hunter, CSU’s Henry Blackburn embrace following controversy

Colorado star two-way player Travis Hunter recently said that he has no ill will toward Colorado State‘s Henry Blackburn, whose hit on Hunter caused him to suffer a liver laceration that will sideline him for the next several weeks.

Colorado coach Deion Sanders also made it clear that he felt the same way, as Blackburn and his family received death threats after their home address was posted online shortly after the game, according to Colorado State’s Jay Norvell.

It’s still unclear if Hunter will remain unavailable for Saturday’s game against No. 8 USC (“Big Noon Saturday” coverage starts at 10 a.m. ET on FOX and the FOX Sports app), although he’s adamant about “not taking no for an answer.”

Regardless, Hunter has continued to show grace toward Blackburn in the wake of his injury. The two have been seen embracing on social media on multiple occasions.

A Colorado State spokesperson told ESPN that Hunter and Blackburn recently met for a charity bowling match between the two that will be shown on Hunter’s popular YouTube channel. The two each put money on the line with the total amount going to the winner’s desired charity.

The two connected shortly after the game and eventually met up in Boulder, where Colorado’s campus is located and where Blackburn is from, according to ESPN.

Hunter is expected to miss the Buffaloes’ game Saturday, as well as their road matchup next week against Arizona State.

Hunter is considered one of the most dynamic players in college football and had played most of Colorado’s snaps this season on both offense and defense before his injury. He has recorded 16 receptions for 243 yards as a wide receiver and nine total tackles, three passes defensed and one interception as a cornerback.
