The winners of the best-of-three wild-card rounds advance to the division series, where the top two teams from the American and National Leagues await after having byes.

FOX Sports MLB Analyst Ben Verlander says to keep an eye on the 90-72 Philadelphia Phillies, who finished 14 games behind the Braves in the NL East to earn the top wild-card spot.

The Phillies went 43-30 in the second half, including a seven-game win streak in the final 12 days of the regular season. They will play host to the Miami Marlins in the best-of-three series, with all games in Philadelphia.

“If they win that series, which I believe they will, we’re gonna get a Braves-Phillies rematch in the NLDS,” the Flippin’ Bats podcast host said. “The only reason I didn’t pick the Phillies overall is they’ve been hot for a really long time.”

Another team to watch is the defending World Series champion Houston Astros, who surged up the oddsboard during the final week.

The Astros won their last four games to move past the Texas Rangers and win the AL West Division for the fourth year in a row.

Houston’s odds sit at +480, the lowest among AL teams, after being at +1300 last week.

Houston furniture magnate Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is betting big on the Astros to win the World Series for the third time in seven seasons.

The Baltimore Orioles, who won the AL East over big payroll teams the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, remain at +700.

The Rangers’ odds tumbled to +1800 from +750 after losing four of their last six games as the Astros passed them in the standings.
