Defensive end Frank Clark does indeed appear headed back to one of his former teams after being released by the struggling Denver Broncos on Oct. 14. But it’s not the Kansas City Chiefs.

Clark is expected to return to the Seattle Seahawks, where he played the first five seasons of his NFL career from 2015-19, per a report from ESPN. “Undisputed” contributor Josina Anderson first reported that Clark was visiting the Seahawks and could sign a contract there.

Clark had been heavily connected to the Chiefs, where he won two Super Bowls and made three Pro Bowls in four seasons, since his release from their AFC West division rival Broncos. The speculation only increased when the Chiefs reacquired wide receiver Mecole Hardman, another free agency departure following their 2022 Super Bowl run, via a trade with the Jets last week.

Some of Clark’s former teammates, including star defensive end Chris Jones, had posted on social media in support of bringing Clark back to Kansas City in recent days.

Instead, Clark returns to a Seahawks team that is 4-2 entering Week 8 and hoping to build upon a surprise playoff run in 2022. The 30-year-old will add to a Seattle pass rush that has 23 sacks this season, fifth-most in the NFL and most among teams that have already had their bye week.

The Seahawks host the Browns on Sunday in what will mark the return of their old royal blue and silver jersey combination as a throwback look. That game kicks off at 4 p.m. ET on FOX and the FOX Sports App.
