Bell — for the fourth time in these playoffs and the sixth time overall this season — started from the pole position Sunday. What’s more, the entire top five (Bell, Larson, Byron, Truex and Buescher) was made up of playoff drivers.
Heating up
Larson jumped out in front early, building about half a second lead over Bell roughly 20 laps into this race.
Staying strong
Larson’s lead over Bell was up to nearly three seconds with less than 20 laps to go now in Stage 1.
Miscue
Elsewhere, there was trouble on the frontstraightaway for Erik Jones, who was dealing with a blown a right rear tire that brought out the yellow flag for the first time Sunday.
Meanwhile, Larson went on to win the opening stage, followed by Bell, Brad Keselowski, Reddick and Truex. Seven of the race’s eight playoff drivers — except for Buescher — earned stage points.

PRE-RACE
Star power
Reigning NHL Stanley Cup champions Adin Hill and William Carrier of the Vegas Golden Knights served as grand marshals for Sunday’s race, giving the command for drivers to start their engines.
Elsewhere, TV host, actor and comedian Nick Cannon served as the honorary pace car driver for Sunday’s race.
“I have been a fan of fast cars since I was a kid,” Cannon said. “NASCAR delivers a unique experience and thrill unlike anything I’ve experienced. I’m honored to be invited to be the pace car driver for the Las Vegas NASCAR weekend.
“It’s one of those bucket list experiences I’m looking forward to checking off.”
Setting the stage
Ahead of the action, FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass broke down who and what to keep an eye out for in Sunday’s race.
