Titans will wear Oilers throwback uniforms vs. Falcons on Sunday

The Tennessee Titans will wear the iconic Oilers throwback uniforms for their upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday. The Oilers became the Titans during the 1999 season after leaving Houston for Tennessee in 1996.

The Titans will also wear the uniforms when they play against the Houston Texans on Dec. 17, according to the team.

The back of the Columbia Blue jerseys will feature players names and white numbers with red borders. The words “Luv Ya Blue” on the back neckline. The uniforms will also feature white helmets and pants with red and blue stripes.

Former Oilers players are excited by the news, especially Hall of Famer Robert Brazile.

“I was in tears when I saw these uniforms, because I was so excited,” Brazile told tennesseetitans.com. “My colors, my Luv ‘Ya Blue, it’s coming alive again.’ And it makes me, and it makes everybody that played with the Oilers know, ‘We’re not dead. We’re alive. The Oilers are alive.”

Brazile played as a linebacker on the team for nine years, from 1975-84. “I was born an Oiler and I’m going to die a Titan,” Brazile said.
