The Kansas City Chiefs and linebacker Drue Tranquill reached agreement on a three-year, $19 million deal that includes $13 million fully guaranteed, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday.

Tranquill joined the Chiefs last season as a free agent after four years with the Los Angeles Chargers and was a key piece of Kansas City’s Super Bowl run. He started eight games during the regular season and had 4.5 sacks to finish fifth on the team and first among its linebackers.

Tranquill played in all four of the Chiefs’ postseason games during their run to the title, with one start.

For the Chargers, Tranquill played 47 regular-season games, with 27 starts, and had 6.5 sacks. He also played in one playoff game, intercepting a pass in a wild-card round loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022.

Tranquill, who turns 29 in August, joined the Chargers in 2019 as a fourth-round draft pick from Notre Dame. For his career, he has 377 tackles, 11 sacks, 3 forced fumbles (1 recovery), an interception and 26 tackles for loss.

ESPN’s Adam Teicher contributed to this report.
