The Detroit Lions matched the San Francisco 49ers‘ offer sheet to tight end Brock Wright, the team announced Wednesday.

Terms were not disclosed, but sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Wright signed a three-year, $12 million offer sheet that included $6 million guaranteed.

Wright was a restricted free agent, and the Lions tendered him a one-year, $2.985 million contract, giving them the right of first refusal if he received an offer sheet. After Wright signed the offer sheet from the 49ers, the Lions had five days to match it.

Wright, 25, had 13 receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown in 14 games last season as the No. 2 tight end behind Sam LaPorta, who had 86 catches for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns in his sensational rookie season.

He had a 29-yard reception in the playoffs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, helping Detroit win two games in one postseason for the first time since winning the 1957 NFL title.

Wright broke his forearm against the Buccaneers and did not play in Detroit’s loss at the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.

He has 43 catches for 424 yards and seven touchdowns in three seasons with the Lions.

The 49ers targeted Wright as a possible replacement for Charlie Woerner as their No. 2 tight end, behind starter George Kittle, after Woerner signed as a free agent with the Atlanta Falcons.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
