Pitching is on fire again.
Several stars on the mound — both fresh-faced and well-traveled — lit it up last season, including a rookie in Pittsburgh.
It’s nearly time to see which flamethrowers can etch their names in the MLB history books after the 2025 season.
Let’s take a look at the odds for the AL and NL Cy Young Awards at DraftKings Sportsbook as of May 26.
American League Cy Young 2025
Tarik Skubal: -110 (bet $10 to win $19.09 total)
Max Fried: +400 (bet $10 to win $50 total)
Garrett Crochet: +750 (bet $10 to win $85 total)
Hunter Brown: +750 (bet $10 to win $85 total)
Jacob deGrom: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
Nathan Eovaldi: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
What to know: Detroit’s Tarik Skubal was last season’s winner in the AL, and it looks like he just might go back-to-back. The 28-year-old is off to a strong start in 2025, with 92 strikeouts in 11 starts, alongside a 2.49 ERA and 0.84 WHIP. The last pitcher to win the award twice in a row was Jacob deGrom for the New York Mets in 2018 and 2019. Second on the board is the Yankees’ Max Fried, who is 7-0 with a league-leading 1.29 ERA in 11 starts.
National League Cy Young 2025
Paul Skenes: +240 (bet $10 to win $34 total)
Zack Wheeler: +300 (bet $10 to win $40 total)
Yoshinobu Yamamoto: +350 (bet $10 to win $45 total)
Logan Webb: +1000 (bet $10 to win $110 total)
Hunter Greene: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
Jesus Luzardo: +1500 (bet $10 to win $160 total)
What to know: Pittsburgh’s Paul Skenes is 3-5 through 11 starts, but a lot of that has to do with a lack of offensive support. He has a 2.36 ERA and 70 strikeouts so far this season, and in his last three losses, he’s allowed four runs combined while striking out 21. In those losses, the Pirates scored a combined four runs. As for Philly’s Zach Wheeler, he is 6-1 through 11 starts, with 88 Ks and a 2.42 ERA.
