Cam Ward is set for his second preseason appearance after leading Tennessee with 57 passing yards in its opener. He completed five of 12 passes as the Titans leaned on a ground game that produced 167 yards.
Tennessee averaged 5.4 yards per carry in Week 1. Ward’s next step is to turn that support into more rhythm through the air, sustain drives and give the Titans a more balanced attack.
Tony Pollard returned to full work during Friday’s joint practice and is expected to be available Sunday. He made four carries count in the opener, gaining 22 yards and scoring a touchdown.
The Titans averaged 5.4 yards per carry in Week 1, while Seattle’s defense recorded two tackles for loss and no sacks. Pollard’s burst gives Tennessee a direct way to test the Seahawks’ front and stay ahead of the chains.
Drew Lock completed nine of 13 passes for 40 yards and Seattle’s only touchdown in the preseason opener. He led the Seahawks in passing yards, but the offense finished with 49 net passing yards after allowing three sacks.
Tennessee’s defense recorded two sacks, seven tackles for loss and five quarterback hits in its opener. Lock’s ability to get the ball out quickly, avoid negative plays and create more chances downfield would give Seattle an opportunity to sustain drives.
Jalen Milroe completed five of eight passes for 36 yards in Seattle’s opener and added 36 rushing yards on five carries. His 20-yard run was the Seahawks’ longest gain on the ground.
Milroe was sacked three times for 27 yards, a key factor in Seattle’s 49 net passing yards. His ability to extend plays while avoiding negative plays would help the Seahawks stay on schedule and generate more consistent offense.
