Here is what to know about the CFP title oddsboard:

The Defending Champs: No. 1 OSU (7-0) remained in the top spot on the oddsboard after a 34-0 win over Wisconsin, and it has now outscored its first seven opponents 255-41. Ohio State now has one win that was within seven points — a 14-7 win over then-No. 1 Texas in Week 1. It has beat every other opponent on its schedule by at least 18 points. So who can stop the Buckeyes from going undefeated in the regular season? They have games left against Penn State, Purdue, UCLA, Rutgers and Michigan — none of which are currently ranked.

Tide Rising: After a season-opening loss to unranked Florida State, Alabama figured to be a lost cause. However, it has flipped that conversation on its head with six straight wins, including a 24-21 win at then-No. 5 Georgia in Week 5, a 30-14 win over then-No. 16 Vanderbilt in Week 6, a 27-24 win at No. 14 Missouri in Week 7 and a 37-20 win over No. 11 Tennessee on Saturday. What a four-game run.

Winners and Losers: Top-10 losses were the thing in Week 8, beginning on Friday. No. 2 Miami was stunned at home by Louisville, falling 24-21. Carson Beck had four interceptions in the loss. No. 4 Ole Miss also lost, albeit on the road against No. 9 Georgia by a score of 43-35. No. 8 Texas Tech fell at Arizona State on Saturday night, 26-22, and finally, No. 10 LSU lost 31-24 at No. 17 Vanderbilt. Miami fell from +850 to +1700. Ole Miss’ odds remained the same at +2200. Texas Tech moved from +1800 to +3000, and LSU fell from +3300 to +10000.

CFP Changes: There will be some changes heading into the next College Football Playoff when it comes to seeding, potentially making the path smoother for some of those premier programs. In late May, the CFP committee approved a proposal in which the four highest-ranked teams would earn the top four seeds and a first-round bye, removing the previous conference champion requirement. The top five ranked conference champions will still earn playoff spots. Last season, the top four seeds — Oregon, Georgia, Boise State and Arizona State — all received a bye and then lost in their quarterfinal matchups. Had the new format been in place, No. 1 Oregon, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Texas and No. 4 Penn State would have been the top four seeds and had byes.
