Title odds have shifted drastically after the Miami Heat defeated the Denver Nuggets 111-108 in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
Per FOX Sports Research, the Nuggets opened the series as the second-heaviest betting favorites (-500) heading into the NBA Finals in the past 16 seasons, behind only the Golden State Warriors against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2017-18 NBA Finals (-1075 to win the series).
After easily winning Game 1, Denver’s title odds got all the way to -1000. But now that the series is even at one game apiece, championship odds are once again on the move.
Let’s dive into the current title odds:
Current 2022-23 NBA title odds*
Denver Nuggets -250 (bet $10 to win $14 total)
Miami Heat +200 (bet $10 to win $30 total)
* Odds as of 6/4/2023

The Nuggets’ title futures have moved a ton, going from -1000 to -250. That is a significant move in the title odds market. On the flip side, the Heat went from +550 to +200 after winning Game 2.
Miami came into Game 2 as huge 8.5-point underdogs but won outright.
The Heat were led by the trio of Jimmy Butler, who finished the game with 21 points, nine assists and four rebounds, Gabe Vincent, who led the Heat in scoring with 23 points and Bam Adebayo, who ended up with 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Now the series shifts to Miami. Despite being on the road, the Nuggets are currently favored to win Game 3 by 2.5 points.
Before the 2022-23 season began, the Heat were +1600 and the Nuggets +2000 in odds to win the NBA Finals.
