TEMPE, Ariz. — The Arizona Cardinals placed veteran tight end Zach Ertz on injured reserve Tuesday because of a quad strain.
Ertz suffered the injury in Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. It marks the second straight season Ertz has landed on IR.
Ertz tore his ACL in Week 10 last season and missed the rest of the year. He returned in August this season and has 27 catches — the second most on the team — for 187 yards and a touchdown.
Ertz had three catches on four targets for 19 yards Sunday.
The Cardinals signed tight end Blake Whiteheart off their practice squad and released safety K’Von Wallace in a series of corresponding moves Tuesday.
