The deal is for $12 million over two years and includes $6.6 million in Year 1, a source told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

The Jaguars released Jenkins on March 5 to free up money on their salary cap.

Jenkins, 30, had 101 tackles last season, the second straight campaign he had more than 100 tackles. He also had two interceptions.

Jenkins gives the Seahawks an option to start opposite Julian Love or play alongside him in three-safety sets, something they used in 2023. Seattle released both Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs last week.

In three seasons with the Jaguars, Jenkins had 5 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, 24 pass breakups and 290 tackles. He signed a four-year, $35 million contract with $16 million guaranteed in March 2021.

He spent the first four years of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he had 5 interceptions, 9 pass breakups and 174 tackles. The Chargers drafted him in the fourth round in 2017 out of Miami.

Also on Wednesday, the Seahawks announced their agreements with tackle George Fant, center Nick Harris and tight end Pharaoh Brown. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Seattle is bringing back cornerback Artie Burns on a one-year deal.

Fant, 31, solidifies the Seahawks’ tackle depth, which got tested last season as right tackle Abe Lucas missed 11 games with a right knee injury that required surgery.

Fant began his career in Seattle as an undrafted free agent in 2016 before signing a three-year deal with the New York Jets in 2020. He made 13 starts last season for the Houston Texans, playing mostly on the right side, and ranked 35th among qualifying offensive tackles in pass block win rate.

ESPN’s Brady Henderson and Michael DiRocco contributed to this report.
